Alyssa Anderson
Alyssa is a provisional psychologist who is currently completing her Masters in Education and Developmental Psychology at Australian Catholic University. She is passionate about working with young people and has an interest in both neurodevelopmental assessments and counselling.
During her time completing assessments for ADHD, Autism and Specific Learning Disorders, Alyssa has adopted a therapeutic lens. Specifically, alongside completing formal diagnoses she works with the young person to identify recommended strategies that will support their own needs in various settings such as at home and school.
Alyssa seeks to create a comfortable therapeutic space in her counselling sessions which is aided by her gentle demeaner. She has provided counselling to individuals from primary school age through to adulthood with a particular focus on areas such as emotion regulation, anxiety, stress, grief, self-esteem and social relationships.
Away from work, Alyssa enjoys walks in nature, time with friends and painting.
